Barcelona is preparing to assume the role of capital of architecture in a synergistic collaboration with professional and cultural entities, institutions, schools and citizens, thus becoming the epicenter.

For ten months, from Santa Eulalia to Santa Lucía, activities will be carried out in the ten districts of the city, which will include exhibitions, routes, workshops, open days, installations, conferences and competitions, with the objective of highlighting the heritage and local talent, while promoting understanding of the importance of urban planning and architecture.

In addition, Barcelona will host the Congress of the International Union of Architects, where contemporary challenges will be addressed, such as climate change and access to housing.

The event also seeks to leave a lasting legacy, with the creation of a large-scale model of the city and a competition to intervene in urban party walls, promoting values of habitability, sustainability and biodiversity.

Ahead of the big event in 2026, Architecture Weeks in 2024 and 2025 will offer a wide range of activities to engage the community.
